I finally had my stress ECG a couple of days ago. This involved me walking on a treadmill whilst hooked up to an electrocardiogram machine. Sounds easy? Well, initially it was. I started at about 2 mph on a slight incline – no problems there. However, every 2 minutes the incline goes up and the speed increases. There came a point where my thoughts turned from “I could do this all day” to “that’s more like it, this is getting a little tougher” to “PLEASE, STOP THIS MADNESS!”. By this time I was into the fourteenth minute at about 4.5 mph on what felt like a 4 5˚ incline and experiencing angina which had been increasing in intensity over several minutes. The officers who had escorted me there were in hysterics from the sight of me huffing and puffing my way through the test! I hope to get the results in a couple of weeks.
I should have some positive news on my appeal for the next update.”
