2020 – 81 – healthcare

Healthcare: grumble, grumble…

Hello friend.

Day 144…

This case has turned a real pain in my derrier. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) took around 6 months to even confirm receipt of my fitness to practise concern (see blogs 2020 – 32and 33 – and the rest). We are at Stage 1 of their investigation process.

As another aside: my other NMC concern (asthma attack) was sent in October last year – I’ve only just received the result on the secondary nurse (not upheld); they’re still looking at the nurse who took the call about my asthma attack.

The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) got back to me and questioned whether I had completed Stage 2 of Care UK’s complaint process. I must have done, the three complaints were all investigated and responded to by one of the Healthcare’s top management, right? Wrong! It turns out, I had an avenue of appeal (Stage 2)! Of course Care UK’s complaint procedure do not appear to be openly disseminated – purposely so? So, I’m now on to Stage 2…

…then back to the PHSO, representation, civil court, blah, blah…

Be happy, be safe and be kind
