Cervical Stenosis: grinding… quite literally!
Hello friend,
Day 119…
Since my last blog (2020 – 29) a couple of weeks into the lockdown, the pain I experienced from this condition has been getting worse. It’s created a whole set of new challenges. My yoga and circuits seem to aggravate the problem. I wake up like a 90 year old man – slowly and gingerly. My whole body seems to have seized up in the night. I take a paracetamol and ibuprofin combo and do some yoga to relieve some of the stiffness. I’ve also been taking some baby steps back into proper execise; although, walking on the yard also aggravates the problem.
To further complicate matters, I was told at my neurology consult that the pain in my hands (which is the worst) wasn’t caused by the cervical stenosis – they suggested arthritis. Except, it’s not that because I’ve now had a blood test and there is no inflammation. It’s wearing, grinding and frustrating.
I’ve now given my consent for the operation. Meantime, to communicate with the GP involves relaying information via a nurse. It’s a somewhat imperfect situation.
Be happy, be safe and be kind.
