I spent a significant part of the previous night constructing a rehearsal plan for today’s rehearsal. I should’ve known better. We were 3 guys down Instead; we went over what I have entitled the ‘Scarsdale Suite’. This is a 6 song cycle in which the numbers weave in and out of each other. It’s like a dialogue between characters (not a medley, as one of the guys unflatteringly put it).
We homed in each part that needed tightening up; it went well. Although, one ¾ time part kept causing the singers (and none of the band) a problem. We went over that part about a dozen times; I’m still not confident that they’ve cracked it.
Governor […] and the choirmaster also turned up to check out the rehearsal. We discussed the rehearsal plan for the choir. It’s still looking good; but only 18 weeks, yikes!
Be happy, be safe (and get more life music in your life, it’ll make you happier).
