Still no reply from the project Governor. Shocker…
I have put together a list of what needs doing, as requested by the No. 1 Governor. I also used it as an opportunity to highlight a number of previous and ongoing issues, and the staff involved. This will, no doubt, create even more animosity. Sometime, you have to split the atom to get results…of course, being a committed pacifist; I’m not suggesting that the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki had any justification. It didn’t.
I’ve also been told that the guy who I sent a ‘cease and desist’ notice is putting ‘a case’ together to stop us using the musical lines he played on the shows. Well, I can’t say I’m surprised; it’s the sort of pettiness that comes from that level of immaturity.
Actually, I can’t wait to see his ‘case’. I’ve learnt a lot about copyright law over the past 6 years; enough to know that he has no ‘case’. People in here make a whole lot of assumptions regarding the law, especially when it comes to copyright. I’ll explain his position if and when he brings his ‘case’. Let’s just say that I am gently shaking my head with a wry smile whilst ‘harrumphing’.
Unfortunately, these matters appear to have paralysed these managers with fear. The fear of making the wrong decision has led to them making no decision. What they appear to be blissfully unaware of is that ‘no decision’ is the wrong decision. They should stop worrying about the twit who knows nothing about copyright law and worry about the guy who will put that knowledge to the test in court if he is able to obtain a hard copy of his score and a CD of the performance.
Oh, boy… I am so fed up with this crap.
Be happy, be safe.
