Jimmy G: … the musical!
I can’t remember where I left this? My blog archive is buried deep within the confines of my cupboard. My plan was to contact musical theatre producers about putting on the show – not as a 1 hour 10 minute rock opera but as a 2 hour + musical – I have lots of ideas. Predictably I got very few replies; – after all how would you sell a show such as this to the general public? Nonetheless, the producer and artistic director of a regional theatre company had planned to meet with me in mid – March. The visitor approval process was well underway – then the lockdown struck and all theatres were shut – many having to cancel their current productions. That’s rather put paid to my plans. I’ve no idea what position that theatre company is in but I imagine they, like the whole industry will have to battle to regain their lost revenues. I wish them the best of luck.
I’ve had to rethink my plan. I’m going to contact theatrical agents as they will know which theatres and producers are still in business, and which ones might be interested in the show. Unfortunately, not having direct access to the internet leaves me at a distinct disadvantage.
Any ideas, people? All agent recommendations welcome.
Be happy, be safe and be kind.
