Media: the irony seems lost…
About a year ago, I attended ‘family day’ visit (2019-25). This resulted in the scoop of the century for a tabloid – prisoner eats toblerone! I then wrote a series of blogs lampooning the irrelevance of tabloid journalism (2019-60, 61, 62 & 63). Lo and behold, one of these hacks, clearly missing my mocking tone, wrote an irrelevant story based on a parody of their work. I’m not sure what that makes their story – an ‘exclusive’ of a parody.
It was a non-story about prisoners drinking coffee. Of course, they turned it into high-profile inmates meeting up at some sort of cafe bar to chit chat about the days events. Read my original blogs – there is not a cafe bar or any seating area.
The most disturbing aspect of this type of journalism is how they use their lies to upset a grieving family member just to get a one line quote. Their lack of ethics, empathy and plain human decency is all too apparent. These stories only reflect badly on their humanity.
Hey, I’m on another family day tomorrow – I’ll let you know what unusual confectionary I eat: EXCLUSIVE: PRISONER EATS YORKIE.. no, PICNIC…no, CHEESECAKE…no…
Be happy, be safe and be kind.
