There are a lot of young new recruits in this prison. Every one of them leaves the cell door flap open. Several times a day, I have to get up and close the flap after they have left it open.
I spoke to one of them about this and they said that they are trained to leave the flap open. What possible reason is there to do this? It’s bad enough that being in prison is like being in a zoo but to actively attempt to take away the only little vestige of privacy we have has the appearance of control and (more) oppression.
If nothing else, leaving the flap open is just plain rude.
Be happy, be safe.
